For those of you whose papers may not carry the strip, a brief summary: Vintage Paperback Paperback Cookbooks. Each time I read the strip, I laugh. For me though, it was just the excitement of getting my mom’s Sunday edition of The Washington Post and going straight for the comics. Ultimately, The Boondocks plays better on the daily comics page than it does in collected form.

Jul 06, tiffany ben rated it it teeasury amazing. McGruder counts Breathed, Watterson, and Trudeau among his heroes, and Roght contend that he stands alongside them with the Boondocks. I have man-love for Huey, and I’m not afraid to admit it. His older brother Huey Freeman is the force that powers a lot of this series and possibly serves as the author’s avatar. There’s no comparison between the two and the comics were cutthroat and honest about real people and issues.
