I have found the instructions have improved since the new owners. That said, if ever in doubt, ask away and this is the instructionw to do that. The landing gear were glued on, giving rise to the Airfix beast once again.

While slightly tedious, this worked very well. Cockpit detail is limited to a floor, two seats, a decal instrument panel and two control sticks. Liquid plastic will flow out of and into any gaps and, when the piece is removed from the mould, it will have an obvious sirfix of plastic running around it.

If you want to join two parts which are instructjons to each other, you could also just touch the edge of akrfix bulkhead or suchlike into the mixed glue so that you get a thin bead along the edge of the part, and again clean away any excess whilst it is drying to leave a neat bead of glue.

I did manage to use the serial number on the tail and the ejection seat warning triangles successfully.

The same can be said for the wings, which had similar gap problems. Looks like some great progress being made, looks great I’ve also heard the word used ibstructions a noun, to describe the parts themselves, or to describe a forthcoming session with PE.

I just need to remove the fitting lugs once the glue has dried. Five Vulcans were refitted with their air-to-air refueling equipment and prepared for the mission. Gluing the tail section to the fuselage revealed more huge gaps, but since I was on a high from the air intakes, I airfi as I just applied layer after layer of CA glue and sanded them out.

I went to my spare decal box and found fin flashes from an Airfix EE Lightning sheet, a Fujimi Spitfire Mk V sheet provided the fuselage roundel, and the wing roundels came from an AeroMaster P sheet.


Since the windows are tiny and oddly shaped, I used blobs of white glue to seal them before painting.

The demarcation lines are all hard, so I used drafting tape for the considerable masking required. Weathering was done sparingly as the RAF kept their showcase bombers very clean, plus the underside paint was brand new. The crew access door and boarding ladder were attached after more fussing. The supplied kit pieces are, well lets just say a little sparse, hence the etched cockpit.
