6. Permeability Test for Granular Soils: Constant Head Method – ASTM D2434

In the picture below, the test input form is the top image and the worksheet is the bottom image. The data aztm for each trial on the worksheet blue boxed area is used to populate the summary information on the Input Form green boxed area.

On the input form, in the top-left you will see a ‘Report Graph’ checkbox. This is where you will designate whether or not the graph is printed on the report. There are three aetm ways to classify your data on the worksheet: Reset, Calc, and Stable.


Trials marked as Reset will calculate additional trials from that point on.

Data marked as Calc will be used in the calculations for the summary information displayed on the input form and the axtm report. Data can be marked as Stable when you determine that it is stable based upon your requirements; the highlighted rows indicate the trials that have met the ASTM definition of stability.

Trials marked as Stable are the only data plotted on the available graph. Classify this data as Stable to axtm it in the graph of conductivity vs. Printing the graph is optional, but for this example it was included.
