I feel like this book started out strong, and then kind of petered out later on. Its central characters are the Roman poet Catullus, who lived during the last years of the Republic, The Crossing of Ingo. I began to travel a great deal within the UK and around the world, for poetry tours and writing residences. Explore the Home Gift Guide. You can almost hear the waves crashing on the sand-calling your name. And I found Granny Carne’s role very intriguing. One day Sapphy sees her brother at the cove in conversation with someone half in and half out of the water: To be familiar with characters of folklore and to find them to be flesh and blood and inextricably linked with one’s own life are, of course, two quite different matters.

The Ingo series by Helen Dunmore
I think Heelen hesitate to read any of the other books in the series heelen because of him. The first star shines out. Try the Kindle edition and experience these great reading features: Dad never talked about the Mer again, and nor did I. Read this book- you won’t regret it, I promise. But maybe the biggest thing that bothered me was how Saph and Conor dealt with their father’s disappearance.
The charecters that Helen Dunmore has created are totally believable, and are bursting with personality. The star rating reflects overall quality and learning potential.

Amazon Rapids Fun ingp for kids on the go. Ingo gets pretty well to ‘show’ – I can tell the siblings are grieving – but never moves on to ‘feel’. The pull of both is strong.
